“Exit To Exile” (EP) by Klokwize | @Klokwize

“No matter where I go
Shit, there I am…”

Late last month Klokwize released his much anticipated EP “East of Exile”. The seven track EP is a continuation of the sentiments that were echoed on the first single he released from the EP previously, “Sick Sad Summer” – definitely hard hitting and a lot edgier, (which can be heard in the lyricism, the natural ‘Pac influence, and on the tracks like “There I Am”) because it’s personal but, it’s still the Klokwize that fans know and love. Klokwize mentioned on his Twitter account that the EP is “for me and you, and not the industry” and the production on the tracks definitely have this aura of liberation and a new burst of energy that is dope, refreshing and devoid of caution. Aside from “Sick Sad Summer” and “Fly” featuring frequent collaborator (on the vocals), Angela Luna, “Whisper”, which is about a real one getting away (“…and I still don’t remember how I fucked it up”) is a another track that I’m really feelin’. Hip hop heads will keep “Whisper” on replay with its production vibes that feel like a real nice ode to Pete Rock. Overall, “Exit to Exile” is the next level of artistic creativeness that fans didn’t know they needed from Klokwize. And, we also didn’t know that Klokwize can make ‘em (the ladies) “whisper”. Now we know – the summer is still hot according to Klok.

“Exit to Exile” is now available on all digital streaming platforms. Since I started writing this post about “X” amount of days ago, Klokwize already dropped the second visuals from his EP for the title track “East of Exile”. His timing is so perfect. Y’all enjoy!

Down Bad, But Never Out: “24 Hours” (Offficial Video) by @Nothin2Much (Prod. by D. Magic Beats)

A visual in time and in character building. That’s the best way to describe Jacobi Ryan’s visuals for his Week 34 single release from his #52in365 #FormerlyFresh music campaign entitled “24 Hours”.

The track, produced by D. Magic Beats, serves as a personal narrative describing a time that Jacobi faced eviction and ultimately homelessness. In the visuals there is no call for mercy or compassion just some good old-fashioned “I gotta figure this shit out for damn myself”. And, Jacobi didn’t let the experience break him or stop him from executing his vision. Thus, we are here with him now – (insert hashtags) #52in365, #BecomeAcquainted, #EmployToEmpower, #FreshOklahoma #EverybodyGoneEat and still the strength of his self-worth is #MakinEmMad. Trust, he needs you to stay strong and keep it movin’ too. This is for you. Y’all enjoy!

#EmployToEmpower: Fresh Oklahoma

Earlier this week on Instagram, Jacobi Ryan introduced fans to his inaugural t-shirt line for Fresh Oklahoma, Jacobi’s janitorial and cleaning company which employs and empowers youth. Jacobi also announced his plans to use his entrepreneurial spirit via the sale of the t-shirt line for good. “There’s a lot I have planned to unveil in the next couple of months and a lot of opportunity that comes with it.” Stay tuned, spread love and cop your t-shirt today! See Jacobi Ryan’s Instagram page for more details: @nothin2much..

#52in365 Week 34: “24 Hours” by Jacobi Ryan | @Nothin2Much

“Lookin at this notice like I know I need to focus/I ain’t goin’ hard enough/And I know it.”

Adhering to self pity is not allowed and that is the lesson that you’ll learn or be reminded of upon hearing Jacobi Ryan’s Week 34 release from his #52in365 #FormerlyFresh campaign entitled “24 Hours”. With it’s low-key ode to a western movie soundtrack a lá “Django Unchained” or “Fistful of Dollars” the track sets a very feverent mood as Jacobi blazes through his experience of once being evicted, all while staying headstrong, as he deals with and executes his plan to overcome a temporary setback – “I’m a living legend homeless/If I gotta sleep in the car/I’m still staying focused/Far from hopeless/Not the one to joke with.” Hardship or not, dignity and vision are always intact, and Jacobi “rides” on – still rollin’ regardless. Y’all enjoy!

’24 Hours” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
