You Ain’t Fresh… But You Can Be!

Queen CEO – Sher Sher

You ain’t fresh unless you’ve checked out the urban fashions from Funkey Flash Back at www.funkeyflashback.com. Queen CEO Sher Sher is urban fashion’s best kept secret and has been in the game for 11 years strong (established in 1993) designing young men’s urban apparel. Fresh, fly and colorful – Mamas, lace your sons with some FFB!

Inside The Sneaker Box

Coincidentally, I came across this website from a tweet from @FunkeyFlashBlack, thus shouting them both out on my blog was an instant no brainer – shoes, clothes… fly shoes, fly clothes. What I like about Inside The Sneaker Box’s website is that it screams “we have a genuine passion and good taste for sneakers – now join us!”. Not their quote exactly (or at all) but the site and company definitely appeals to sneaker aficionados and people like myself that purchase *cough* sneakers *cough, cough* about twice a year! Check ’em out at www.insidethesneakerbox.com.

Until later peace, prayers and blessing!

"Abnormality" by D-Nick

I needed to hear this message.

P. Dot – "Poetry"

I’m posting this video on both of my blogs…. the notebook is synonymous with both of my loves… hip hop and poetry. Check out this new artist, P. Dot and his video entitled “Poetry”.

Diggy Simmons

I heard through the grapevine that this son-of-an-icon was a beast on the mic. All I can say is Diggy don’t play.

Scarface: Tag Is For Kids

Scarface tells Ozone Magazine why he turned down the VH1 Hip Hop Honors. We’ve had it twisted all along – he’s hip hop not Dirty South. Let me rephrase that the media has lead us to believe that Scarface is Dirty South by tagging his music as Dirty South…. I’ll be the first to say thank you for your contributions to hip hop – it’s global.

If I Post It… Maybe The Words Will Disappear

I don’t think I have to even explain this one… ’cause I know I’m not the only one that has the chorus of this song and visions of Diddy dancing on repeat. Hello….two-step, two-step… Good morning… two-step, two-step.

Make ’em, make ’em clap to this…

Yeah, clap to this! Jazz and spoken word taking you on a trip down hip hop memory lane. Grab your cap and gown and enter the gates of Hip Hop University.

R.I.P.: GURU

Keith Elam a.k.a. Guru
1966-2010

It’s been a while since I last posted a blog. It’s a been a while since I’ve searched the internet with some amount of motivation or watched television. I type all this to say that I was surprised to get online the other day to read about Guru’s death as I like a lot of his other fans and family was hoping for a positive outcome for this brother and his health. It was also shocking to read about “everything else” (rumors, strife, and a Guru that we possibly did not know) surrounding his death. However, I think the feeling of shock and awe always vibrates within us whenever hip hop has the audacity to show its human face. It can be ugly or pretty but its on us to decide cherish that which is humanly positive.

Rock on Guru. Peace, prayers, and blessings to your son, family, friends, and fans!
