“No Peace” (Official Music Video) by Rawlo Black | @RawloBlack

NRG Recordz artist Rawlo Black recently released visuals for his socially conscious “No Peace” track. “No Peace” is featured on the collaborative project “The Yellow Tape” with his partner in rhyme Steelo El. “Stay woke” and enjoy!

Bang This In Ya’ Whips: “Ladies Night” feat. Leila Dey by The Sorority | @thesororityyz

When individual freshness comes together to create royal dopeness on some classic hip hop Queendom shit, it’s nothing but pure flames! The Toronto collective The Sorority, which includes emcees Haviah Mighty, Keysha Freshh, pHoenix Pagliaccia and the “female 6 God” herself Lex Leosis, did a remake of Lil Kim’s “Ladies Night (Not Tonight Remix)” which features hip hop heavyweights (for our culture) Angie Martinez, Left Eye (R.I.P.) , Da Brat, and Missy Elliott. What I love about this 3.0 version is, that it is a surprisingly sort of slowed and throwed version of “Ladies Night” with lyrical assaults coming from all four emcees. Also, this song not only celebrates International Women’s Month but celebrates the female hip hop shoulders from which these ladies now PROUDLY stand  upon. So much respect is woven throughout the track as shown on Haviah Mighty’s verse when she shouts out all the great female emcees. And shout out to Kool and The Gang who blessed us with the original and now timeless track in the first place. The Sorority really makes the original “Ladies Night” come full circle. Okay, drop that guitar bass, Robert “Kool” Bell… Y’all enjoy!

Good Vibes: “Higher” (Video) by Nefertiitii | @Neffyraps

Baltimore’s Nefertiitii recently released visuals for her lyrically satisfying and adrenaline pumping single “Higher”. Her flows are the truth and no she doesn’t have that “new Missy Elliott car smell”. Been. In. The. Rap. Game. Remember that and enjoy!

“Los Angeles” (Prod. by @captaingetdown) – Klokwize | @Klokwize

With production by Dave Foreman one of TGSofHH’s favorite emcees, Klokwize, is back on our pages with his latest release for his fun loving and funky “Los Angeles”. This is the first single and video release from Klokwize’s upcoming EP “Permission to Land”. And yes, DJ Quik makes a cameo in the video. We love it when you win Klokwize. Y’all enjoy!

“Know How” (Video) by Goody | @itsgoody_

“Lately I feel like a chip on my shoulder/But I been so hungry I ate that shit too…”  – Goody

Chicago emcee Goody continues to solidify himself as an emcee that listeners should stay watching. Having shared the stage with the likes of  Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa in 2016, Goody recently released visuals for his fan favorite track “Know How”.  I love the hook on this track which basically gives you a dope formula for his “know how” (hint – stay on your pivot). And, bar for bar Goody reminds us why we still like a “classical rap style” if you will, from time to time. Y’all enjoy!

#MakMashUp – “Starboy/Way Up Freestyle” [Video] by @FlyTerryMak

It’s Friday, so why not flex on ’em with a freestyle mashup compliments of Terry Mak. Earlier, Terry Mak dropped visuals for two lyrically pleasing freestyle gems backed by The Weeknd’s magnetizing “Star Boy” and Meek Mill’s “Way Up”. In the world of freestyles, this is actually refreshing. Enjoy!

Cake: “What We Do” (Official Video) – Isis Ohui | @IsisOhui

Houston’s Isis Ohui serves up hip hop music in her visual for “How We Do” just the way I like to see it – above par emceeing and (in most scenes) with a microphone. Thats the “cake”. Isis is also cut from the cloth of emcees with impeccable flows (Biggie, J. Cole) that makes you say “ohhh shit!!” Thats the “eat it too.”

Devour and enjoy!

Isis’s latest project is “Better Than Ever” and is now available on SoundCloud

“Credible Threat” by Zeroer |@Zeroermusic (feat. Yak Nasty that Nilla)

In this day and age, there is something uncomfortable about receiving a video submission entitled “Credible Threat” with the whole military covert operation as the working theme. But, after absorbing the visuals for a minute, I realized (after wiping the sweat off my forehead) that Seattle Washington’s Zeroer and Yak Nasty are dope ass emcees. We see your Tech9ine influence Zeroer, and whoooo… thanks for such an aggressive intro to The Greener Side of Hip Hop. Please enjoy… And remember this is entertainment folks!

“Credible Threat” is the first release from Zeroer’s upcoming project “Fusion”.

“Plant A Seed” by @theholstarmusic ft. Chisamo

Not all love stories reach their full potential, put still you must water love with love right? If you agree then you’ll enjoy the latest single release from The Holstar entitled “Plant A Seed”. In his signature storytelling fashion, The Holstar delievers passionate lyrics over a piano and violin laced track about love that is not reciprocated. Sometimes we all can’t reach “the Heavens” when it comes to matters of the heart, even with the best intentions. Enjoy!

Blue Collar Hustler: “Bookman” – By @BINKSWINSTON x @Shyftshift_g

Ha!  I just realized as I started typing this post, that Binks Winston and K. Nightshift inserted themselves into the Evans family photo which serves as the artwork for their “The James Evans Mixtape”. With DJ Crimson on deck, their latest project is dedicated to the blue collar hustler, the hard workers, yep the James Evanses of this world who take care of theirs. Recently, this Oakland duo released the entertaining and raw (see Binks almost get his revolutionary “wig pushed back” when the music drops) visuals for their track “Bookman”. Laced with Nas’s soulful “Get Down”,  Binks Winston and K. Nightshift deliver the lyrical goods for what I heard Binks describe on the track as “black ass Bay Area music”. Hence, even Huey P. Newton is channeled in the visuals. So, having said that, check it out for yourself, and get drop kicked into the black power 1970s. Enjoy!

About the mixtape…

“The James Evans Mixtape” is a tribute to the blue collar hustler, the working class hero, and the old-school family man. It’s also a short and sweet run through some classic hip hop tracks, from Biggie and Nas to OutKast and the Dogg Pound.”

The mixtape is now available on SoundCloud
