“25/8” (Official Refreshed Video) – Fresh | @Nothin2Much

Fresh. Fresh for the fans, for his future, the culture, manifesting his own destiny and having a positive impact on others. This Lawton, OK emcee is no stranger to The Greener Side of Hip Hop – I still remember one of his first videos “Perfect Notes”, from a few years back and I knew then Fresh was cut from a different cloth. LFresh’s genuine, lyrical bravado and confidence he displayed on that track had to have been instilled in him at an early age. These days he is dropping financial advice and words of wisdom on social media, ALWAYS reppin’ the hip hop culture for his city and for the ultimate win – he has strategically gotten even “closer” to his fan base…

First, there was the CONNECT – click this link here – for the exclusives and first to know information. Then, Fresh went ahead and just “REFRESHED” the visuals for one of my favorite tracks, the energizing “25/8”. Wait, what? A second video? (my initial reaction). I think I watched like 45 seconds of the video and realized there was no need to ask in my Dr. Phil voice – “How is connecting with your fans working out for you Fresh?” And Fresh’s response (in my imaginary mind probably was): “Godspeed. I’m from Lawton.”

And, yes he is reppin’ Lawton, as well as the steps that have been ordered for him, AND he took his fans along for the ride. The REFRESHED visuals for “25/8” tells it all with the devoted fan love and subtlety captures the essence of Tupac and Dr. Dre ridin’ out in the desert in “California Love”. But don’t ever forget – he from Lawton. I am TOTALLY lovin’ this new energy! Check out the video below and vibrate on a higher level with Fresh “25/8”. Enjoy!

“Close” by @Nothin2Much x @JoeySativa

“How I get caught in this double dutch?” – Fresh

We’ve all had that heartbreaking, poetic experience and Joey Sativa’s vocals on this track reminds us that we often fall victim to our own vulnerability – “That’s what I get for gettin’ close.” It’s all how one labels the experience, but I can totally relate to this track and I thoroughly enjoyed the soulful hip hop combinaltion that Fresh and Joey give on their new fan favorite – “Close”. Sit back, reflect, and enjoy!

“Back in the City/How Great I Am” (OFFICIAL VIDEO) by El Blue | @Marty_McRhymes

Fresh off releasing back-to-back projects ( “Two Sides” and his beat tape “Spring”) the West Coast Dilla a.k.a. El Blue is back with his latest project entitled “Gold” that he relased earlier this month. El Blue also dropped some visuals from “Gold” which is actually a double track, comprised of tracks 1 & 2 – “Back In The City” and “I Am Great”. Yes, as in Muhammad Ali, I paid dues, I’m the shit GREAT. El Blue has consistent, solid production skills and is always open about his constant growth as an artist. But, as far as his lyricism on ‘Gold” this is no longer a drill folks – fans and new listeners will feel his aggressive confidence, strong flows and his selection of superb, “soulful samples and golden beats” on this project. Shit, I was really feelin’ his “gangster flow” on my favorite track “Gold”. But still, I am just as much a fan of El Blue’s “California sunshine” as displayed on his more passionate tracks “All I Need” and the reflective “Gold Chain”.

Alright, y’all sit back and watch the visuals then, head over to bandcamp and all the major streaming outlets to download “Gold”. Enjoy!

“The Lost Boy” (VIDEO) by @reverielove x @loudenbeats

I wasn’t looking for this cinematic lyrical fix but dammit it found me. Check out the new visuals from emcee Reverie (you know her name) and (producer) Louden for their track “The Lost Boy”. Enjoy!

“Backup.” by Baby Cate | @thatkidcate

She still rockin. Hailing from Louisiana, “Backup.” is Baby Cate’s latest self-produced track. Released back in April, the track is like a good gumbo that opens with a simplistic piano key melody, with an eerie sounding bass slash bounce heavy beat coupled with Baby Cate’s signature slow-paced-feeling-great-’cause-it-was-a -good-day lyricism. On this track Baby Cate stays firm on why she is in her own lane as felt in the hook – “I look around and see nobody like me.” Yea, you gone have that line on repeat when you feelin’ yourself too. Y’all enjoy!

Hiatus Over: Cousin Will (@Vigilantagency) Made Me Do It…

And, his pic says it all right? Meaning he looks like he’d fire ME if I did not get off my “hiatus ass” and I don’t even work for him (smile). Nah, seriously, another blogging hiatus is over and for real, for real, check out Cousin Will from Florida over at Vigilant Sports Agency (www.vigilantagency.com) as I promised him a special
out. (I see you cuz). Anywho, refresh is always good, no great! I can’t stress that enough but, it’s time to let the music rock again. I didn’t forget about you. I didn’t.
