Fresh off releasing back-to-back projects ( “Two Sides” and his beat tape “Spring”) the West Coast Dilla a.k.a. El Blue is back with his latest project entitled “Gold” that he relased earlier this month. El Blue also dropped some visuals from “Gold” which is actually a double track, comprised of tracks 1 & 2 – “Back In The City” and “I Am Great”. Yes, as in Muhammad Ali, I paid dues, I’m the shit GREAT. El Blue has consistent, solid production skills and is always open about his constant growth as an artist. But, as far as his lyricism on ‘Gold” this is no longer a drill folks – fans and new listeners will feel his aggressive confidence, strong flows and his selection of superb, “soulful samples and golden beats” on this project. Shit, I was really feelin’ his “gangster flow” on my favorite track “Gold”. But still, I am just as much a fan of El Blue’s “California sunshine” as displayed on his more passionate tracks “All I Need” and the reflective “Gold Chain”.
