“First things first” – Rest In Peace to Nipsey Hussle. Hip hop lost and mourned greatness this week – but the impact of Nipsey Hussle’s inspiration (which I’ve learned so much about via the voices he has impacted) and legacy will live on. Jacobi Ryan touched upon Nipsey’s influence on him in this week’s #TMIKTMID podcast. The #52in365 #FormerlyFresh music campaign as well as a lot of Jacobi Ryan’s past, current and forthcoming endeavors are Nipsey Hussle, Gary Vee, J Cole, or Lawton, OK inspired – and he gets it from his parents too. So, shout out to all the “collective baton carriers” who were inspired over the years to implement Nipsey Hussle’s vision about creating, owning and investing in themselves while still dealing with his untimely passing. His spirit always did and will continue to live on within the #52in365 campaign.

Alright… still rollin’ regardless and still providing value, Week 13 of the #52in365 #FormerlyFresh music campaign kicked off with the release of the Nolo Ellis produced track “Money In The Way”. And yesterday, Jacobi blessed fans with the visuals and iced it with with statistics and knowledge about the racial wealth gap in America. Yep, the marathon continues. So don’t get blindsided by the classic cars in the video, Jacobi’s aggressive flow and lyricism, or enraptured by Nolo’s fire production on the track (if you can help it – the track is infectious ). Instead, focus on the investment that Jacobi made in himself by learning so he could pass his financial knowledge (among other things) on to the masses and also spark conversations and the minds of future visionaries using his #52in365 #FormerlyFresh campaign…
