Earlier today, Jacobi Ryan released the visuals for his Week 16 track, the Dylan Graham produced “Long Time Coming”. Now, in the visuals for the track you’ll high key see “it”. Long time fans will recognize and remember “it”- the vintage BOMBnCOMS hoodie from his clothing line he introduced a few years back, makin’ a cameo apearance in the visuals – but it’s still all black everything and all eyes on the #52in365 movement. Although, this week’s visuals do include “more” of Jacobi via special effects and also captures his solitude, as the location for the visuals is inside a spacious one room dwelling. But, all the aesthetics ties in to the message in the lyrics, as the song is akin to Jacobi having a motivational conversation with himself about his journey to success, which he discusses in this week’s episode of #TMIKTMID podcast. The podcast is available for listening at the end of this post and you definitely want to hear Jacobi’s thoughts on how the NBA’s David Stern, Allen Iverson, and Michael Jordan all connect with some of the lyrics from the song. So, if you’re in the midst of running your own “marathon” and even if you stop and restart again, and again, this message is for you. Y’all enjoy!
“When talkin to myself,
I say get up outta the way,
I say get up outta the way
‘Be forgetting that’s how u play
It’s been a long time coming…”
– Jacobi Ryan,
“Long Time Coming”
