“They wanna know how I got these scars
Keep my blade just as sharp as the bars…”
Staten Island’s Squeegie-O, has been dropping a lot of heat lately, and recently he released the Blaq Knight produced track “Slum Livin’”. The hauntingly, melodic, and slightly jazzy sounding track, gives us all the proverbial wordplay that fans are accustomed to from Squeegie-O as he channels a younger version of himself surviving and verbally parkouring through the grittiness of “slum livin’” which is also intertwined with a recollection cautionary tales. (“Move silent/Shoot cautious/Beware because the devil comes in so many forms/They come from all corners.”) Hip hop heads will certainly appreciate Squeegie-O’s dark lyricism and the anthemic vibe/ode to survival of the fittest sound that Blaq Knight created with an eerie sample over hard hitting drums. “Slum Livin’” is now available on all of your favorite streaming platforms.
Listen with love and spread the word. Y’all enjoy!
